SHAWNA FRANKS

Shawna Franks (she/her) is an actor and producer in the Chicagoland area. She is a founding member of Facility Theatre where she most recently played the role of Nell in Endgame, directed by Yasen Payenkov. She also played the role of Juliette in Facility Theatre's U.S. premiere of Right Now (Joseph Jefferson Award winner for Best Actor in a Supporting Role) and Boggett in the Chicago premiere of Jen Silverman’s Phoebe in Winter.

Shawna performed in Grand Concourse (dir. Yasen Peyankov) at Steppenwolf Theatre where she was honored to cover performances for the amazing Mariann Mayberry. Other credits include: The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington (Steppenwolf), White Rabbit Red Rabbit (Interrobang Theatre Project) and The Woman Before (Trap Door Theatre).

Shawna originated the role of Dottie in Killer Joe by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts. She performed this role at The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, The Bush Theatre in London, and The Vaudeville Theatre on London's West End. She has also appeared in various productions in Dublin, Los Angeles and New York City. Shawna is the founding Artistic Director of the award-winning Space 55 Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.
