SAM HURWITZ

Sam Hurwitz (she/they) is a theater artist, producer and arts administrator who has been creating art in Chicago for over 10 years. Originally from NYC, Sam moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College Chicago’s Comedy Writing & Performance Program…and then they moved to Hanoi to teach English for 3 years, but

that’s another story.

Sam has worked as a freelance producer, performer and creator with A Red Orchid Theatre, Theatre L’Acadie, Meat Machine, The LIVINGroom—and Facility Theatre where she produced and assistant-directed the U.S. premiere of Right Now by Catherine-Anne Toupin, which received 8 nominations at the 2024 Non-Equity Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best Production of a Play.

Sam is the Executive Assistant and Artistic Coordinator at TimeLine Theatre Company where they have served in several capacities for over

four seasons.
