The Feast Theatre Collective — Meet the Feast
dado (she/her) is a visual artist and theater practitioner in the Chicagoland area, and a longtime ensemble member at A Red Orchid Theatre where she has directed and acted in over a dozen productions. Favorite credits include: Veal (Jojo Jones), Six Men Dressd
Dressed Like Joseph Stalin (Dianne Nora), In Quietness (Anna Ouyang Moench), Killing Game (Eugene Ionesco), Grey House (Levi Holloway), Traitor (Brett Neveu)—and Simpatico (Sam Shepard), which transferred to the McCarter Theatre to much critical acclaim. She has also staged numerous experimental incubators at AROT, including Harold Pinter's Celebration and original work Act Five.
dado holds an MFA in visual art from the University of Chicago and received the Edes Prize, which she used to produce David Lang’s chamber opera little matchgirl passion (Facility Theatre). dado also directed the U.S. premiere of Catherine-Anne Toupin’s Right Now, the Chicago premiere of Jen Silverman's Phoebe in Winter and The Ruse of Medusa by Erik Satie for Facility Theatre, where she is a resident director. Other favorite works include the original vacuum cleaner opera (Museum of Contemporary Art & Prop Thtr), Alice In Bed by Susan Sontag (Trap Door Theatre), and productions at Shattered Globe, Emerald City, Steppenwolf, Prop, Famous Door—and The Goodman Theatre, where she was the recipient of The Goodman Theatre’s Michael Maggio Directing Fellowship, and assistant directed A Life In The Theater with Robert Falls. dado currently teaches at the University of Illinois Chicago.
